Yukata is a traditional Japanese costume worn during the summer season.
Yukata are usually made of cotton unlike kimono which are made of silk.
People, especially young women wear yukata to events such as summer matsuri (festival) and hanabi-taikai (fireworks display).

These bags have been created from Yukata fabric. The bag designs have incorporated and accentuated the original fabric patterns. They are perfect for outings on hot days, and also make very handy everyday bags.

Some bags come with a small pouch in which you can store your folded up bag. Either way, the Yukata material is soft so all the bags may be folded and stored easily in another bag, ready for use when needed.

As an additional feature, the bags with the clasps are made using Obi belts from Kimonos. An Obi belt is a sash that is tied around the waist when wearing a Kimono, as shown by the men and women in the photo. Obis need to be strong and reliable to keep the delicate fabric of the Kimono held firmly in place.

With much attention to detail in the design of these bags, this is your chance to get your hands on a truly original piece.
